Corrales MainStreet: 2025-2026 in review

Corrales MainStreet is a non-profit organization that advocates for its community by supporting the economic vitality of the Village of Corrales, while preserving our traditions, way of life, historic and agricultural roots. We facilitate projects proposed by our community with the goal to preserve the cultural flavor and quality of life in our Village. Our actions are driven to support and promote projects and activities that benefit a wide range of individuals, businesses and organizations seeking resources, funding, volunteers and collaboration.

  • Community Events & Festivals - Sponsored and supported major events like, The Corrales Scarecrow Contest for local Businesses, Annual Tree Lighting, Corrales Art Studio Tour, Corrales Garden Tour, Starlight Parade, ¡Viva Corrales!, The Corrales Wellness Event and 4th of July Parade, enhancing cultural and community engagement.

  • Youth & Education Support - Multigenerational events and activities like "Music in the Park" and provided materials for creative projects and activities hosted by small business and organizations.

  • Historic & Cultural Preservation - Assisted the Historic Old San Ysidro Church with a donation and in raising funds for renovations.

  • Small Business & Local Economy Support - Promoted Corrales businesses through ribbon cuttings, marketing, and the "Doing Business in Corrales" initiative, increasing visibility and customer engagement. Produced rack cards paid for in part by Corrales Lodger's Tax, were produced to highlight local places to shop, eat and stay.

  • Agriculture and Sustainability - Supported the Growers' Market, Corrales Farmer's Co-op and partnered with Sandoval Extension Master Gardeners to achieve water-conservation gardening initiatives, promoting local food systems and environmental stewardship. Supported and promoted the annual NMLC and Farmland Preservation Bird walk.

  • Volunteer & Community Engagement - Facilitated hundreds of volunteer hours for major events and projects, strengthening connections among residents, local businesses and organizations.

  • Marketing & Outreach - Invested in social media visibility (+10% engagement), and community promotions. Quarterly produced and shipped to every village mailbox a “The Corrales MainStreet News" to increase awareness and participation for all ages. Assisted with marketing expenses and media for events like the Corrales Historical Society fundraiser the Corrales Fine Arts Show.

  • Arts & Cultural Collaborations - Partnered with CHAMP (Corrales Horse and Mule People) and Corrales Society of Artists to foster cross-community collaboration between visual arts, equestrian, and business sectors. Provided food and beverages for the annual Corrales Art Studio Tour Preview Gallery Reception. Purchased noodle pony supplies, stickers and coloring sheet materials to promote awareness of equestrian activities and safety.

  • Fiscal & Grant Management - Served as a fiscal agent for multiple projects, including The Corrales Community Intel Grant (6 grants awarded to local organizations) benefiting Corrales Non-Profits!

  • Sustainability - The Corrales Garden Tour focus is Sustainable Growing in the Desert Southwest, educating the public about sustainable, water-wise growing strategies. This successful model is now being considered in other local communities.

  • Public Safety - CMS continues to work with NMDOT to get a Pedestrian Access Route established for a safer and more walkable Corrales. Worked with the community to produce a Safety Video Series for social media to help educate residents and visitors about different modalities that exist within Corrales.
