Corrales offers plenty to experience. You’ll find a sample of it below, but please check our events or look for a specific business if you’re not seeing what you’re looking for. We are currently working on updating our directory for updated offerings! Please double check hours and availability for each online while we work on contacting everyone to get information up to date.
Historic Corrales
Although incorporated only in the 1970s, the Village of Corrales was founded at the time of the Conquistadors, 400 years ago. This heritage is easily visible throughout the Village in repurposed historical buildings like Casa Perea (pictured above), Casa Vieja, and Perea’s Tijuana Bar, or in the Casa San Ysidro museum and the Historic Old San Ysidro Church. You can find a listing of all the other historic locations in Corrales and more information about Corrales’s history here.

Cultural Corrales
The Village’s cultural heritage survives in the wineries that draw on the oldest wine making expertise in North America (Corrales Winery, Acequia Winery to name a couple), the farms that draw water from the Rio Grande (such as Alary Farm), and the many horse corrals that give the Village its name (and offer rides, stabling and breeding, like Pine Ridge Arabians). That heritage is on full display in our famed 4th of July parade and Harvest Festival. To get a better feel for Corrales’ grounding in agriculture and enjoy the awesome nature in which Corrales is steeped, walk any of the interior acequias (ditches). These pathways run the length of the village and can be accessed from various points in the village.
Artistic Corrales
Unique galleries provide several hours of perusing excellent quality, affordable local art. A quick “art crawl” going North on Corrales Road would include Moon & Dove Gallery, which just moved to a new, larger location to better showcase its diverse art collection, Corrales Fine Arts in Mercado de Maya offering award-winning pieces by owners Barbara Clark and Susanna Erling, Glimmer Glass, and, finally, Corrales Bosque Gallery, another cooperative with stunning pottery, jewelry, paintings, and sculpture. Online, you can also check out the Corrales Arts Center featuring various local artists.
Many art events are held each year in Corrales; see them here.
Antiques Corrales
You can spend an afternoon perusing friendly antique stores containing exciting but affordable treasures. The historic Bunk House is now known as Second Hand Treasures, where all profits go to help abandoned animals. A little bit farther, Et Cetera carefully curates collectibles and antiques, just north on Rincon you can enjoy Amazing Finds which boasts amazing floral services and home furnishings. In Mercado de Maya, Ambiente is a potpourri of both antiques and "world art" collected largely from Latin America, jewelry (some lovingly made by the owner), Day of the Dead decor, rugs, pottery, textiles, baskets, and more.
Foodie Corrales
The Village is home to several eateries that will delight anyone looking to experience the many flavors of New Mexican cuisine: Village Pizza (lunch and dinner, beer), Indigo Crow (lunch and dinner, wine and beer), Hannah and Nate’s (breakfast and lunch, no alcohol), Perea’s Tijuana Bar and Restaurant (lunch, full bar), Ex Novo (microbrewery, food trucks and local restaurant delivery), and Corrales Bistro (breakfast, lunch and dinner, beer and wine). Most of these locations offer happy hours and a chance to have a drink with the owner(s).
Nature Corrales
Ask villagers what they treasure the most about Corrales, and the answer will likely be the natural environment. You can experience it in so many ways: take one of our side roads off of Corrales Road to hike in the bosque (woods) and along the West bank of the Rio Grande; follow hidden trails to small beaches and enjoy the wildlife; look up to admire the very old cottonwoods, and down for recent plantings to rejuvenate the bosque; spot hot air balloons before, during and after Balloon Fiesta (and look for some performing a “splash and dash” in the Rio Grande); watch sandhill cranes squawking overhead and in the Rio Grande in the winter; or walk the beautiful path along the “clear ditch” – just above the bosque.
